Bayou Bully Rescue at a Glance
A Bit of Background
Bayou Bully Rescue was born out of the desire to save dogs that find themselves in kill shelters that will not adopt bully breeds. Many ask why shelters will not adopt bullies; the answer is dog fighting. If bullies were available for adoption to the general public, dog fighters would simply pick bait dogs from the pounds. As a result, kill shelters only adopt through reputable adoption agencies that properly screen the potential homes and families these dogs are placed in.
Bayou Bully Rescue does not have a “facility,” but works through foster families who care for the pups until they are adopted. Due to this limited space and the cost of vetting, feeding, etc., Bayou Bully Rescue does not accept surrenders, nor do we pick up strays. Due to legal liabilities, we are only able to receive dogs from shelters.
